Olivia Culpo was crowned Miss Universe 2012 by beauty Leila Lopes of Angola, Miss Universe 2011. The event was held at Planet Hollywood Casino in Las Vegas, NV. The last time USA won the Miss Universe Title was back in 1997 won by Brook Lee.
The 20-year-old USA beauty queen from Rhode Island will be an ambassador for women everywhere. She is also the spokeswoman for Breast Cancer Awareness.
Miss Philippines, Janine Tugonon, came in second, and Miss Venezuela, Irene Sofia Esser Quintero, came in third.
