Is Ashley Judd running for Kentucky Senator 2014? Rumors started when MSNBC’s, Chuck Todd announced that there was “serious speculation” that Judd might run. When questioned by US Weekly, Judd said that she had not made any decision; “I cherish Kentucky, heart and soul, and while I’m very honored by the consideration, we have just finished an election, so let’s focus on coming together to keep moving America’s families, and especially our kids, forward.”
Ashley Judd is a 44-year-old, Golden Globe-nominated actress. She is a Democrat, who currently lives in Tennessee, but she could move back to Kentucky and qualify to run for the Senate seat. She is married to Indianapolis 500, 3-time, Winner Dario Franchitti, and her mother Naomi & sister Wynonna are both country musicians.
Sen. Mitch McConnell has been Kentucky’s longest serving Senator with 5 Terms served. Judd would be challenging McConnell in his 2014 re-election bid.
We’ll just have to wait and see if she runs for Senate. One thing’s for sure, we definitely need more Women in the U.S. Senate.
